Weekly Reflection - CONTAINS VIDEO

This week was one of the best weeks of term so far. Yesterday, me and my team filmed a short movie and posted it up on YouTube! Here is the link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmNXhbIo-ns

We also did Antarctica topic. Currently, we are working on a Scott Base Video to replace our presentation. Oh, and here are some of my activities I did: Fact File, Interview Questions, Travel Brochure.
Watch out for the video! :)

Weekly Reflection: NINTENDO SWITCH TRAILER IS OUT!

For nearly a year and a half, people have been waiting for the Nintendo switch, first known as Nintendo NX, to be revealed... AND THE TRAILER IS FINALLY OUT! Look below to see it.

This is probably the first game console that I have ever wanted to buy, because I wanted to actually wait for it. Nintendo has hinted it to come out March 2017, and I am starting to save up some money for it! The price is foreseen to be around $600.

TOPIC
For topic, our class is now supposed to be making anything to do with the Titanic. Cameron, Nikalai and I have decided to create a small presentation and a comedy video based on the movie. I am really excited!!!

NUMERACY
We did lots of mathsbuddy. We scratched our pencils onto pieces of numbered paper (basic facts). And we did the last maths tests.

Weekly Reflection!!!

MATHS:
I did a lot of revision, since tests are coming up. By revision I mean completing tasks on MathsBuddy.

WRITING:
For writing I had to write a few explanations. I (and the rest of my class) wrote one explanation on frogs, and started one on sleep. Below is the explanation of frogs.

(nearly) All about frogs
OR The lifecycle of a frog

A frog is a tailless amphibian with a short squat body, moist smooth skin, and very long hind legs for leaping. They are green and sometimes brown, and live in swamps and/or ponds to lay their eggs. Some frogs may be be poisonous enough to kill, while others are as murderous as small stones. So for this reason DO NOT attempt to touch a frog you don’t know about.
Image result for poisonous frog
(Above: A poisonous dart frog, or Dendrobatidae)

The lifecycle of a frog is a very strange process. First, two adult frogs (male and female) have to mate, then the female will have to lay her eggs in a pond. The eggs sometimes would merge together to become embryos, and others may not even get past that stage. The embryos will then sit there for six to twenty-one days to hatch. The embryos start to look more and more like tadpoles, with poorly developed gills, tails and mouths. After hatching, a small tailed black spot, or a tadpole, will come out and start clinging to a water-plant, as to not getting washed away and killed.

After a while of being out of its embryo, the tadpole would get some external gills to breathe underwater with. Its tail would also get longer and longer, while it would develop hindlegs. After this stage it would look a little bit more like a frog, just without front legs.

About four or five days after that stage, the tadpole would start to live of food from its tail, slowly making it disappear. A couple days later the tadpole would have very small front legs. Then the front legs would grow, the tail would become shorter and shorter… and behold! A young frog would appear!

Now, the tadpole had become a frog. It would go on with its life, eating flies, jumping about, maybe even accidently eat a tadpole. But then two frogs would find each other, mate, and start the whole lifecycle all over again! Then the frogs will die. Yes, sadly all life must come to an end.

As you learned in the explanation above, a frog’s life cycle is a quite interesting one. You also learned about what a frog was, where they live, and how they lived. Now go outside and see if you can find one!

READING:
We actually started a new class novel last week, called 'The Boy in Striped Pyjamas'. It is turning out to be quite a good book, and I hope that there is a good ending.

OTHER:
Also this week, I have completed a Main Star. It was to make a Christmas treat, then give some to your classmates, friends and/or teacher. I made some Lego gummies. The blog post for this is under this reflection post.

Main stars | Christmas food: LEGO GUMMIES!

I made Lego gummies for my Christmas food main stars! The reason I made these for this Main star? Well, it's literally just modified jello, and we eat jello on Christmas. Today I'm going to give some to Miss Hines, and probably some of my classmates. The link to the recipe is HERE.

Oh, and have a nice Christmas in two months! :D

Cool game: Bad time simulator

Explanation: This is a simulator of UnderTale's Megalovania fight. After the game loads, you should try normal first. Here is website link if you want it big screen: jcw87.github.io/c2-sans-fight/ Oh,  and one more thing, if you find you can't control the game, click the game screen. It's right up there.
Controls | select screens: Z to select, X to cancel, arrow keys to move your soul (the red heart) to the selection you want. FIGHT is for fighting, ACT is to check sans (don't have to use this), ITEM is to heal (Pie: 99HP, I. Noodles: 90HP, Steak: 60HP, L. Hero: 40HP, and I advise you only use the higher healing items when you are near the end), MERCY is to spare him (this doesn't do anything really, but in the actual game you GETTTTTT DUNKED ON!!!(instantly killed)).
Controls | bullet dodge box: When your soul is in the box, it can move around freely, but remember to dodge sans' bullets! Again you use the arrow keys to move the soul, but when you are blue you can only jump around, like a platformer game. Hold up to jump higher.

All in all, I think this a good simulator, and if you no hit the first attack or finish the game... tell me in the comment section below! (Also, subscribe to my YouTube channel Cubscouter!!!)

The boy in Striped Pyjamas | Starting a new class novel! + YouTube updates

At the start of term, our class started reading a new novel. I think you can tell the name of the book, since I included it in the title. The book is about a little boy in a rich family, and the time set is when the holocaust was happening. We did a few activities for it, and they were quite fun. Please stay tuned for the YouTube updates.

(Click the pics to enlarge them kay?)

And now for the YouTube updates. My channel, Cubscouter, will have comic dubs, an explanation of nanotechnology and improved gaming videos coming up soon. But for now, watch my videos, get into my channel discussion and CUBSCRIBE! (#puns)

Playing Justin Beiber's Baby, on piano, at Redroom + other stuff

First, I gotta say something.
Sorry for not posting a lot since I have gone to Taiwan! (You probably don't know I went there, because I didn't make a post about that.) And no, NOT in the shcooll- I mean school -holidays. Yes, we are in Taiwan when other people are in school. Sounds nice to you, huh? Well, it is not that fun. I still have to do homework, because our school is completely online now. But you still have to go to school though.
Surprise! I have also bought Minecraft in Taiwan, the game that is about breaking blocks,  placing blocks, and much, much more.
I played on a few servers, mostly Mineplex. I attempted to create a Minecraft gameplay video but the recording extension failed horribly. So I made THIS video to replace it.

WARNING: IT MAY TASTE BAD. MAY CONTAIN NUTS.

Now to the actual post.

==================================(-_-)===================================

Last Sunday,  I went to Redroom. You are wondering what that is, aren't you?
Well let me explain. Redroom is an event that happens every month, and is run by a lot of our friends. Who are mostly western families (well, at least half are.) And a Redroom event could be either 'Stage Time and Wine' for parents to do acts, and watch, or 'Stage Time and Juice' for kids. That day was Juice.
On that particular day, they were supporting Playing for change. And the idea of it was to have mostly kids doing acts, but there was a band doing Eighties music for the first, I dunno, hour? Then this guy volunteered to STEAL MY SONG I WAS GONNA PLAY!!! Well, he didn't say it like that but it felt like he did. I was sad. BUT THEN I played my song, and I felt much better, because of all the people singing along. Thanks to Nile and Hannah for holding up the words! :) The video link is HERE, or you could watch it at the end of this post. At the end, lot of the people (including my mom) were kind of annoyed that the parents stole our spotlight.
AND HERE IS THE VIDEO, KINDLY EDITED BY MY FRIEND: BRIAN!

Week 2 reflection

Reading

This week we have been reading a class novel called 'See ya, Simon'.
I think it's pretty interesting.
It is about a boy who has Muscular Dystrophy, and needs a wheelchair.
It is told from his friend Nathan's point of view.

Technology

This term for technology, my group will be doing cooking.
In cooking we have teams of four. This week my team consisted of Me, Jimmy, Dillon and Callan.
We made fruit salad.
It was very yummy.
But I couldn't finish it since I was too full.

Topic

This term our topic for Topic ( ͡° ͜Ê– ͡°) was the Olympics. Here are some activities I have done.

Here is an interactive piece of candy corn to make you happy.

See ya, Simon - Make your own cover

Today, we started reading a novel called 'See ya, Simon'.
Miss Hines then forced us to make our own covers.
Truthfully most of the time I was staring at the screen doing nothing.

Week 7 Reflection

Literacy|Reading

This week for reading, we started reading 'Kensuke's Kingdom' by Michael Morpurgo.
After reading each chapter, we had to do an activity. One of them was to create your own book cover for the book. To see my original blog post for the book cover, click HERE. To see it now, look right beneath this.

Literacy|Writing

For writing this week, we wrote a Haiku poem. Haiku poems are quite easy, but the main points are: the first line has five syllables, the second line has seven syllables and the third has five syllables.
Now for this poem we needed to brainstorm, and Miss Panther showed us bubbl.us.
It is a website where you make what are called mind maps. Here is one of mine!

Then we had to write a Haiku, of course. Here are my ones!

Frogs
Frogs swim through water
Frogs smell a lot like madness
Frogs eating people

Nature
Nature is a frog
Nature is cute birds chirping
Nature is your heart

Cellphone
Phones can contact friends
Phones can contact family

Cell Phones can do lots.

Topic

For topic this week, Mackenzie and I have done a lot of work on our presentation. Here is what it looks like!

Kensuke's Kingdom | My cover

This week my class is reading a novel for fun.  It is called Kensuke's Kingdom, and we are supposed to make heaps of different DROs (Digital Reading Objects) to represent our reading. Today we made a new cover for the book! here is my one.

Week 4 reflection

So this week, I didn't do my DLO for maths, so there will be no numeracy.

Literacy

This week, for the word above I already forgot we did poetry. Wait what are we talking about? OMG my head hurts so much. Oh yeah poetry. We wrote a poem that made no sense. View it at this link I nearly forgot about but then remembered. MY DIDGERI- wait what are talking about again?

Animation

I made an animation. As you will see a man goes to space. Link to the video is HERE, but if it doesn't work because your internet modem just caught on fire because you are hiding from a psycho killer here is the video on my blog.

Maths

Okay so for maths I- woops I forgot what I was going to say. That must be very awesome and gangster so I will Hey is that a whole air plane on my windowsill!? Wait were where we? Okay I will just skip this subject. (This is mostly because I did not do my DLO, or Dopey Latched Operation)

Last, but not least: Topic

For topic, us commies (AKA Mackenzie and I) are starting on our topic inquiry.
We are doing the reason Lord Rutherford of Nelson is on the 100 dollar note.
What I know about him already is that he did some science stuff, like changing the view of atoms. Yeah, that's what he did! That's the first thing I remembered- hey what? Woops, just slipped my mind.

Thanks for reading this - uh - blog post, and bye!

My didgeridoo poem

For writing this week, we looked at a Didgeridoo poem by Roger McGough.
Then highlighted it and looked at it again.
After that, we made a class poem. This meant everyone made a stanza, then we put it together.
Here is our team's stanza:

A rat
cannot rap while running
Wolves
wolf down hot rabbit stew
Polar bears
pee into ice pools
But what does a didgeridoo?

Then we made our own nonsense poems. Miss Hines said mine was GREAT!!!
Here it is. Prepare to enter the wild part of blogger.

Gryphons
will dive into lava
Monkeys
with their keys are rude
Octopi
shock pie to eat
But what does a didgeridoo?

Daleks
can fry eggs to lukewarm
Krillitane
treat schools like some zoo
Hyenas
say hi then say Jeepers
But what does a didgeridoo?

Dogs
will jump logs that are boggy
Rabbits
are as rabid as glue
Starfish
fish for lonely stars
But what does a didgeridoo?

Kangaroos
might do the conga
Pumas
are the brand of some shoes
A cat
will chat with a puppy
But what does a didgeridoo?

What does a didgery
What does a didgery

What does a didgeridoo?

P.S. Daleks and Krillitanes are Doctor Who monsters.

Week 3 Reflection

The following will be Kyle's week 3 refection.

New Stop-motion
I made a new stopmotion. Remember in the last stop-motion where the pink blob comes and takes the remote away? Well, this is the prequel.

The teachers have also shared with us another kind of stop-motion app. But in my opinion this one is quite boring compared to picpac. But it was fun to use, though. Here are the vids I made.

Numeracy
For numeracy this week, the Freaky Fractions (my group) learnt how to add and subtract decimal numbers. Here is a DLO explaining how to do this.

AND FINALLY, WRITING:

For writing, this very second I writing ONE WORD! See my work below.

Thanks for reading my fabulous work, and have a nice day!
