My passion project: Up to the face now!

After spraying the necronomicon's insides, I can now start doing the face and wrapping it up with glad wrap. Then I will be doing the pages! Here are my pictures. (I used scissors to hollow out the Eyes, nose and mouth cavity.)

Nanogirl's speech

Yesterday Dr Michelle Dickinson, AKA Nanogirl, came to the Regent theater and did a speech about nanotechnology. She had some funny stories up her sleeve like this one... "A bit of a time ago, I went to the Auckland zoo. I went into the gecko place and 'stuck' geckos up to the ceiling. Then one of the zookeepers came in, and she said that geckos don't stick to Teflon. So the next time I went in, I took a frying pan from the warehouse that had some Teflon inside it, looked around to see the zookeeper was looking the other way, then put a gecko on it. It slid right off. Well, now you see scientists won't believe anything until they do it three times. So I did it again. Like last time, it slid straight off. But when I was about to do it again I got a tap on my shoulder. And because I had the frying pan in one hand and the gecko in the other, it looked a lot like I was about to bash the gecko with it. I tried and tried to explain to her it was for science, but she didn't listen. And I am now banned from Auckland zoo." She also showed us the world's smallest movie, which she said was made frame by frame, and each one took about three hours. It is called "A boy and his atom". Watch it on YouTube here, or just watch it on my blog.

She also had awesome science experiments for us to take a look at, like ferrofluid, waterproof sand, a half waterproof plate and nano-3D printed gecko feet.

Passion Project Started!

Today I started making my passion project. What I did first was I headed over to my Nana and Grandad's, and found out my Grandad had taken some rug foam he found from the beach. So I took it and used it to start my project, the Necronomicon.I took some pictures so that you don't have to imagine what it looks like.

The War by Jimmy and I

This is a video Jimmy and I made before went to sleep at our sleepover.
We hope you like it!

Wacky Wednsday

Today in the morning I wore a tie to school, and my friend Mackenzie had turned into a girl. I then played Chinese Chess with Jimmy the lazy Mountaineer, and saw that Sam had tied his shoes together. We then did jumping jacks at literacy and there was an EARTHQUAKE so we turned into turtles. Then we ran around the school and made everybody get a virus. When we went into the class room, we sat in our upside down chairs.

Main Stars: Make a christmas card for a friend or nieghbor

For this Main Star I made a card for Joseph, my Taiwanese-Canadian friend who lives in Taiwan. Here are some pictures of it:

Main Stars: Research how other countries celebrate christmas

Main Stars: Participate in a nieghborhood/community clean up

On Thursday, the twelfth of October, I did a scouts community clean-up. We went along the beach to pick up rubbish, and Yotam found a used up firework. We also found a lot of glass.

Random Collaboration Writing

The nicely hidden spot was beneath the tall, green plants. All the walls were made of wood, and there were no doors keeping it safe. A drawer could be seen neatly beside a moldy bathtub. If you looked on top of the drawer, you could could see an unlit lantern sitting on top of it. But the strange thing was, there was tiny balls of light stuck inside the drawer, and they were still bright.
